JoEllen Golberg Interior Design offers design services in Rhode Island and North Carolina.
JoEllen seeks to imbue your space with the attributes that make a house, or office, uniquely YOURS. Her personal style is casual and cozy, yet elegant. Seeking to bridge the gap between the old and new, antiques can be juxtaposed with the latest "it" item from the design center, and yes, even an occasional Home Good's find! She admits she shops there, most designers won't. (Shhh...No one needs to be any the wiser!) If it's YOUR home, with YOUR style, done with confidence, verve and aplomb, it will be a hit. She feels good design does not have to cost a fortune. But bad design costs dearly in comfort and contentment.
JoEllen graduated from nursing school in 1978, practiced for years, and continues to be a local church musician. She has lived in RI for 30 years, and New England for 34 years. She continues to renovate beach properties in North Carolina on Hatteras Island. Married, she is the mother of two sons, and two step-sons, (and dog owner!). Thus, she understands the demands of today's unique family systems, and the need for balance of function and aesthetics. JoEllen's work was featured in RI Magazine. She formerly owned the floral design business, "Special Graces" in Wakefield, RI. She has taught floral design at garden clubs and URI.
JoEllen was recently featured in the March 2009 issue of "SO Rhode Island" Magazine.
To prepare for your first consultation, please take some time to go through shelter magazines, and pull out pictures that inspire you. Keep a little file called "Inspiration" throw in anything that catches your eye: a postcard, a color, a fabric swatch, an image, something from nature... that is where most design begins: a flash of pure inspiration. Call her before you begin your project to save on costly mistakes!
